The newly constructed Kibeho Bible Center is one of a kind

Set to be launched before the end of the year, this center will offer resourceful tools for students of the Bible. Built in Nyaruguru District’s Kibeho Sector, the state-of-the-art facility is another gift to the world from the Marian Fathers — the apostles of the Divine Mercy under the mantle and loving guidance of the blessed Virgin Mary.

The center is equipped with graphic exhibits, digital material, physical repository and audiovisual history archives. In addition, there will be a multimedia center and a tea bar. The children’s section, designed to make Bible learning exciting, is being set up too.

"This is not a Bible museum. It’s an evangelical center." Says Fr. Leszek Czelusniak, the brain behind the project. The center redefines evangelization. It recreates the environment in which biblical events took place and makes it easy for us to ponder and comprehend the word of God.

As a travel enthusiast, I have always been fascinated by the story of creation in the Book of Genesis. The beauty of the geographical features embellishing the surface of planet earth is undeniable. As I tour different attractions, I recognize the otherworldly skills our Maker possesses. The destination I cover is a tiny dot on the global map, but the said skills are in full display here.

I don’t know much about the Bible. Last time I participated in a biblical dialogue, I wanted to know whether the garden of Eden still exists or not. The tourist in me would love to visit it and camp therein.

Over the years, my plan to study the Bible has been a victim of procrastination. This center will undoubtedly change that. The Kibeho Bible Center is an attractive tourist attraction and an oasis of biblical knowledge.

As I walked around the yet-to-be unveiled building, I looked at the scripts, maps, artistic impressions and handcrafted objects. I felt like a featured character rather than a consumer of the content. I marveled at Noah’s ark and felt like boarding. Furthermore, I gazed at the Temple of Jerusalem and saw the legacy of King Solomon.

Let me stop here because the center is still under construction. A lot of work still needs to be done. Nonetheless, I left the building with a polished picture of its first phase. I can’t wait for the launch.
