From 7 Series BMWs and top-of-the-range 4WDs to posh Starex Limousines and presidential buses, Premier Transport Services (PTS) boasts a fleet that meets lofty standards of high-level conference delegates and the upscale clientele in general.
PTS was established in 2016 in response to the emergence of conference tourism, which is one of the fastest-growing sub sectors of regular tourism. Whilst the government and private financiers are investing substantial amounts of money in conference facilities, individual entrepreneurs are setting up businesses targeting delegates with higher disposable incomes.
Understanding the complex logistical demands of clients is key in meeting or exceeding their expectations. PTS works closely with clients to configure outlines of requirements while putting budget limitations into consideration.
"Apart from catering for the needs of business visitors, we also provide transport and logistics management services to institutions in the public and private sectors. Obviously, we are tapping into the broader tourism industry too. Our exemplary customer service has made PTS stand out from the crowd." Says Angella Ngoga, the company’s sales and marketing manager.
When the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) launched the Tembera u Rwanda campaign in 2016 to stimulate domestic tourism, PTS seized the opportunity. Ever since, the Kigali-based company has been a reliable partner in an effort to encourage travel enthusiasts to discover remarkable Rwanda. Its 26-seater shuttles and executive buses ferry both local and foreign tourists to and fro different attractions regularly.
As tourism plays a bigger role in fast-tracking development, the company harnesses this trajectory to create jobs and contribute to the socio-economic transformation of the host community. A more holistic approach involving the government, private sector and the civil society is taking shape.
Ground transportation forms an integral part of tourism. Unfortunately, this key component of travel was marred by disorganized operators, tax evaders and non-professionals for a long time. PTS is propelling the wheels of the much-needed reforms geared towards service delivery that reflects the image of the country.
As Rwanda continues to implement structural reforms and proactive marketing plans, the number of inbound tourists is expected to rise exponentially. As the new dynamics unfold, Premier Transport Services is positioning itself as the logistics handler of choice.
