If you are new here, I am currently on a tour of all 30 districts of Rwanda. It is an innovative campaign designed to showcase Rwanda as a destination of choice while creating an alternative platform for businesses to promote their products and services.
Throughout the course of this campaign, I will be publishing a series of stories highlighting my travel experiences in every district. In addition, I am repackaging this content to create digital magazines and booklets. At the end of this grand tour of the land of 1,000 hills, 30 publications will be available free of charge.
So far, I have covered Karongi, Musanze and Gasabo. I am now touring Kayonza District. You can follow my awe-inspiring journey of discovery on this blog and read each district’s book online. Each post comes with two adverts. One appears somewhere in the middle and the second one is placed at the bottom. These ads are displayed in order to give you free access to books covering specific districts exclusively.

In a bid to cater for the needs of visual content consumers, these chronicles will be converted into a docuseries. Since my lips are not circumcised and my face is ugly, I am using an app that converts text into a human voice and still photos into videos. An alternative platform is in the pipeline. This campaign is a first-hand account of an adventurer on a mission to discover what each district has to offer. In partnership with different stakeholders, I will donate some of these books to community libraries in different parts of the country. Promoting tourism while cultivating the culture of reading is the rationale behind the campaign.
Around the world, numerous jobs and businesses depend on a thriving tourism sector. Tourism is also a driving force behind the protection of the environment and bio diversity. Globally, 2020 was the worst year in the industry’s modern history. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. The ongoing rollout of COVID- 19 vaccines gives us hope that the sector will rebound sooner rather than later.
A lot of work needs to be done to revive tourism, save jobs and ensure the economy bounces back stronger than ever. This calls for an integrated approach.
